Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare has proudly served our communities since 1969.

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) is one of forty Community Services Boards established under the code of Virginia to provide behavioral healthcare to individuals in the Commonwealth.  We provide services to adults, children, and families with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders throughout the Roanoke Valley.  We are committed to serve the residents of the Cities of Roanoke and Salem, and the Counties of Botetourt, Craig, and Roanoke.  We operate multiple programs throughout the Roanoke Valley through the work of over 350 dedicated and caring employees.  We are proud to have served our community since 1969.

Our Board of Directors

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. Each Board Member represents one of the five localities Blue Ridge serves (Botetourt, Craig & Roanoke Counties as well as the Cities of Roanoke & Salem). Board makeup is determined by the relative population of each locality. Board Members serve 3-year appointments, and may serve up to 9 years consecutively. Following 9 years of consecutive service, Board Members must be off the Board for 1 year before being eligible again.

Board members provide oversight and direction for Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, while the agency’s Chief Executive Officer oversees day-to day operation.

Our Executive Management Team

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare’s Executive Management Team is comprised of Division Directors, members of the Executive Office, Business and Finance, HR and CQI who make decisions and set guidance for the agency. BRBH’s EMT provides strategic and operational oversight to the agency and our employees. Additional responsibilities include: goal benchmarking, planning development, and strategy implementation driven towards encouragement and success. Lastly, our EMT promotes a diverse culture across our multiple locations.
